This community runs directly along Core Creek and encompasses the Sea Gate Marina. The entrance to the subdivision is elaborate with white brick signs and a center guard hut. Once you pass the entrance, you will travel down a long stretch of Sea Gate Drive with woods on your left and waterfront homes on Core Creek on your right. Eventually you will get to the bulk of the subdivision where you will find a large central common area with a clubhouse and pool. The remainder of the common area is made up of grassy fields.
The homes in the subdivision vary from simple ranches to elaborate beach houses. Many of the lots were still undeveloped as of this writing with thick wooded areas being prominent between the homes. Many of the homes are waterfront and are along the Core Creek where most have small docks and boat lifts.
In the center of the subdivision you will find the Sea Gate Marina that is run by the homeowners association. The marina offers 70 rental slips, several transient slips, boat ramp, gas, diesel, portable pump-out and convenience store. Sea Gate is located down the road from Eastman Creek. The entrance is accessed off of Old Bridges Road just after going over the high-rise Core Creek Bridge. The city of Havelock is only a few minutes drive away and is home the the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. Heading the opposite direction on Highway 101 will take you back to downtown Beaufort and the intersection of Highway 70.
